Auditions for Camelot Dec 3 & 4

AUDITION DATES: Sunday, December 3 and Monday, December 4. Audition slots begin at 6 pm and end at 9:00 pmCall-backs may be necessary for some roles and not for others. Those who are needed at call-backs will be notified on Monday, December 4th and Tuesday, December 5th. Call-backs will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5th at Clifton United Methodist Church and will include learning music from the show, movement, and possibly additional reading. If you are invited to callbacks you, as part of a small group, will then work with the choreographer to learn a dance combination. You will not have to dance during the first round of auditions.

 AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT: Please reserve your audition time on Signup Genius. Please print and fill out the audition form prior to your audition. Walk-ins are welcome and will be seen in the next available slot.

 PLEASE PREPARE & PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR AUDITION:

  • 16-32 bars of a Broadway-style song that showcases your vocal range
  • Sheet music in the proper key with cuts marked. An accompanist will be provided (no CD’s, tapes or a cappella numbers).
  • A copy of your resume and headshot.

Please note that you will not have to dance during the first round of auditions, but call-backs will include a dance combination.

Principal Roles
King Arthur – The legendary king of England who created both the English court system, the Round Table and the code of chivalry. Baritone.
Queen Guenevere – The beautiful and headstrong princess who becomes Arthur’s wife, but who also falls in love with Lancelot. Soprano
Sir Lancelot – The handsome French knight devoted to Arthur and the Round Table, but who falls in love with Guenevere. Baritone
King Pellinore – A king from a distant land, friend to Arthur and Guenevere. Comedic role with no singing.
Mordred – Arthur’s illegitimate son who wants to destroy Arthur’s Round Table. Tenor, sings “The Persuasion” with Morgan Le Fey. (In this production, Mordred’s “The Seven Deadly Virtues” has been cut.)

Featured Roles
Merlyn – The legendary wizard and mentor to Arthur as a boy.
Morgan Le Fey – A capricious and sexy enchantress. She dances and sings “The Temptation”.
Nimue – A Lady of the Lake who enchants Merlyn and sings “Follow Me”.

Sir Dinadan – A knight of the Round Table.
Sir Lionel – A knight of the Round Table
Sir Sagamore – A knight of the Round Table.
Tom of Warwick (a 10–12 year old boy)

The ensemble of 8-10 men and 8-10 women will play lords and ladies of the court of Camelot,
attendants to the enchantresses Nimue and Morgan Le Fey and Knights of the Round Table. The
ensemble will consist of singers of a variety of ages, as well as, male and female dancers and fight
combatants.
